hold me
01:08
|
|||
i live inside a shell
that is inside of a wall
that is inside of a fort
that is inside of a tunnel
that is under the sea
(where i am safe from you)*
and if you really loved me
you'd find me

strangers
01:15
|
|||
reject my affection again
tell me you don't feel things the same way that i do
but if that's true, then why are you still with me?
you've got to understand; this is all i know
wiping tears with the back of my hand, i feel so alone
and i wish i knew how to talk to you
without pushing you away

graspin' at straws
01:39
|
|||
i'm sitting on my bed, and suddenly, a light shines through my window, and your hand's on my back, but i was sure i was alone. everything is falling all around me, and i can taste the blood already, but before i know it i'm on my feet and i'm running to the place my body likes to take me, when i'm crying for you, half-asleep. i'm damp and panting, there's water everywhere. the sky is opening, something's happening, and somewhere, a goddess is weeping for her lost and forgotten race, but meanwhile i'm collapsed in the middle of the train tracks and the tears are running down my face.
goodbye, goodbye, goodbye.
oh, it never really mattered to me much, anyways.
goodbye, goodbye, goodbye.
oh, it never really mattered to me much, anyways.
goodbye!

pyramus and thisbe
03:53
|
|||
through a hole in the wall, those two lovers did call
trading their breaths soft and sweet
but their voices grew tired, their hearts were on fire,
the lovers decided to meet
oh, pyramus and thisbe, of the weeping mulberry
by the light of the moon, beware of that tomb
you're destined for tragedy, the fault is nobody's
the gods are all weeping for pyramus and thisbe
on that hill, on that night, a lioness did fight
with blood dripping all down her maw
thisbe escaped, but she abandoned her cape
which the lioness did tear and claw
pyramus discovered her cloth-woven cover
he assumed she was dead, it was all torn apart
desperate and grieving, eyes tearing, chest heaving
he drove a blade through his heart
oh, pyramus and thisbe, of the weeping mulberry
by the light of the moon, beware of that tomb
you're destined for tragedy, the fault is nobody's
the gods are all weeping for pyramus and thisbe
when thisbe returned, her stomach did churn
for her lover lay dead at her feet.
In a panic, she fell, bade her farewells,
and took her own life in a beat.
on that cold winter day the colors did change
of the fruit on the mulberry tree
from a deep red to white, berries sour with spite
the lovers were finally free,
oh, pyramus and thisbe, of the weeping mulberry
by the light of the moon, beware of that tomb
you're destined for tragedy, the fault is nobody's
the gods are all weeping for pyramus and thisbe

your eyes gleam wide with a- feral ambition!
that could scare the shit out of a- right wing politician!
you're disturbingly aware of the mistakes that you make
throw a fit when you're treated like the victim you play
and i swear to god, if you take one more step
in my general direction, then i'll lose my head
stay far away from me, and, no, never come back
take your apologies and shove them up your ass
(up your ass)
'cause you're a fucking bitch, you're manipulative
not only fake as fuck but inconsiderate
hate only tires the heart (which i'm sure you lack)
that's why i'm writing this song and not getting you back
(getting you back)
for all the times that you lied,
all the times you fake cried,
you made me feel like i fucking deserved to die.
invalidate my emotions!!!
ignore my warning signs!!!
i never should have trusted you with my weakest side.
oooo, oooo, oooo
i wish that when you were holding me
that i had seen the knife you held to my spine
while i try to see the best in everybody,
you've left me disgusted with humanity.

book of time
02:48
|
|||
starin' at a ceiling full of stars
thinkin to ourselves, "why can't those be ours?"
i'm not getting something, i missed the boat
i made myself vulnerable, you went for the throat
it's not a problem... (i don't care)
a striking silence fills the air
will you wait for me if im not there?
you brush my cheek, fingers in my hair:
"babydoll, please don't worry
it'll all turn out right
the answers to all your questions
are written in the book of time"
scarlet lips match scarlet thighs
a sullen face, solemn goodbyes
cold winter days, and colder nights
you know i won't let you win without a fight
i get impatient, you don't care
your eyes meet mine, and i shoot you a glare
you ask me, "what are we doing here?"
i brush your cheek, fingers in your hair:
"babydoll, please don't worry
it'll all turn out right
the answers to all your questions
are written in the book of time."

theres somethin' about a pair of pointy ears
that scares away your sadness
tucked tail between legs
thoughts fuck with your head
but to love the doomed takes practice.
hearts heal in due time
songs end without rhyme
but you'll never forget
his big black eyes
his absence can drive you straight to hell
but it's apparent to me, he'll miss you just as well.

song of self-pity
01:54
|
|||
hard n fast more like hard n sad
im making you come now you're making me mad
i wonder if i'll ever be a high school grad
cause i'm losin my mind and my sex is a fad
so fuckin' alone, my lips taste like cloves
i'm all outta dough cause i spent it on dope
head under the stove, i'm feelin like job
our love only grows, you can leave, just don't go
these elegant women are all just beginnin' to
understand who what where why how and when
but love, it's a given that you will be missin me
baby don't leave me just count down and breathe
*sigh*
hard 'n fast more like hard 'n sad
i'm making you come, now you're making me mad
i wonder if i'll ever be a high school grad
cause i'm losin' my mind and my sex is a fad
tell me, please, baby what do you see
in a girl like me? i can barely count to three¿¿¿¿
i promise i'm not lying when i say you make me happy
but they say that if you love something, then you should set it free

dog shit eyes
02:03
|
|||
when my eyes get heavy at the end of the day
all that i can think about's your stupid face
the way we talk and smile like we've been friends for a while longer than we have
i like your pots and your pans, i like your sweaty hands
(and i want them all over me)
so please, darling, listen closely
it's like i've died a million times and now i'm finally waking up
let's go on adventure to find the holy grail, we'll drink the wine from that sacred cup and then get DRUNK
on the constructive interference of the wavelengths that are projecting from the beats of our hearts
(la da da da, la da da da da)
in only less than a week, you had me head over feet
i never knew that i could sigh a sigh that was happy
your sense of humor has me questioning what i ever thought was funny
and if i seem inquisitive, don't feel inhibited
i'm driven by a hunger to know everything about you
it's like i've died a million times and now i'm finally waking up
let's go on adventure to find the holy grail, we'll drink the wine from that sacred cup and then get DRUNK
on the constructive interference of the wavelengths that are projecting from the beats of our hearts
(la da da da, la da da da da
la da da da. la da da da. la da da da da, da da da da da
da da da da, da da da da, da da da da, da da da da
daaaaa da da da dummmmm.)

the bicycle song
02:47
|
|||
1-2-3 1-2-3 1-2-3
i checked into the wrong hotel the other day
i'm not exactly sure what it was i was lookin' for
perhaps: a sign of intelligent life in a town made up of dirt and train tracks?
but life can be as easy as riding a bicycle
when you play the game fairly with your cards on the table
wind in your hair, pedals under your feet,
you don't know where you're going, or quite who you'll meet.
i once met a boy who'd never told a lie.
he didn't like having opinions, or saying goodbyes.
as naive as it sounds, he trusted everyone he'd ever met.
he had big blue eyes and a desire to please.
he had bright brown shoes, and an eager smile.
but life can be as easy as riding a bicycle
when you play the game fairly with your cards on the table
wind in your hair, pedals under your feet,
you don't know where you're going, or quite who you'll meet.
